Frequently Asked Questions

GENERAL INFORMATION

Stock items: products available in our factory warehouse and purchased through our online shop/stock are prepared and loaded within 1 to 4 business days. Custom orders: bespoke cement tiles are produced in 4 to 5 weeks (pressing, drying and curing, quality control and packaging). Terrazzo and granito take 5 to 6 weeks (pressing, drying, polishing, quality control and packaging). Zellige in loose pieces and standard shapes has a 4 to 5-week lead time. Express Zellige production: we keep certain pre-fired clay shapes (bejmat) in stock. These can be glazed in the colour of your choice. The express Zellige option reduces production time by 2 weeks. Shipping: once the order leaves the factory (you will receive an e-mail notification), delivery takes 8 to 12 business days (UK mainland). These timelines apply to standard products and medium-volume orders.

We deliver worldwide. Shipping is handled by carriers specialised in heavy and fragile goods. Timescales vary by destination: 8-12 business days for the UK mainland, 10-15 for the rest of Europe. A tracking number is e-mailed to you as soon as the order ships.

There is no minimum order for stock products. For custom orders, a minimum of 5 m2 is generally required, depending on the product and project complexity.

Contact us by e-mail or phone with your project details (product reference, area, delivery address). We will send a detailed quote including shipping costs. Once accepted, you confirm by paying a deposit.

Our online catalogue only represents a fraction of our possibilities. We create bespoke work: antique tile reproductions, special colours, custom formats. Send us a photo or sketch and we will assess feasibility.

We offer a branding service for hotels, restaurants and retail. Your logo, brand name or custom motif can be integrated into cement tiles, zellige or terrazzo. Get in touch to discuss your project.

Our products are handmade from natural raw materials (clay, cement, marble, mineral pigments). We favour short supply chains, artisanal craftsmanship and in-house training. Our production of cement tiles and terrazzo does not require high-temperature kilns, reducing our carbon footprint.

You can order colour and material samples directly from our online Samples Shop, or see them in our showrooms in Paris, London, Lisbon, Zurich, Madrid, Malaga and Dubai.

Yes, showroom pickup is available subject to stock availability and prior coordination with our team.

Payment is by bank transfer or credit card. A 50% deposit is required for custom orders, with the balance due before shipping. Custom products are non-returnable. Stock items may be returned within 14 days in their original packaging.

SPECIFIC USE CASES

Cement tiles, terrazzo and granito can be installed outdoors provided certain conditions are met: a stable substrate, drainage screed, and appropriate water-repellent treatment. Zellige is also suitable for outdoor use in temperate climates. Consult our technical sheets for product-specific details.

TERRA tiles are naturally frost-resistant (when properly installed with adequate drainage) and are suitable for terraces, courtyards and facades. Their slip resistance (class R13) makes them ideal for outdoor areas.

Yes, TERRA tiles are frost-resistant when installed correctly with an appropriate drainage system. See our installation guidelines.

All our products can be used in wet environments (showers, bathrooms, hammams) provided dual waterproofing is applied: substrate waterproofing (SPEC membrane) and tile water-repellent treatment. Zellige offers a particularly striking finish in showers.

TERRA tiles can be installed in showers and wet areas with the appropriate treatment. Their textured surface provides good grip even when wet.

Our cement tiles, terrazzo and granito are designed to withstand heavy use. Terrazzo and granito offer superior mechanical resistance and are recommended for hotel lobbies, boutiques and commercial spaces.

Zellige can be used as flooring in residential and moderate-traffic commercial spaces. For high-traffic areas, we recommend a reinforced glaze.

All our products (zellige, terrazzo, cement tiles, TERRA) are compatible with underfloor heating. The temperature should be raised gradually during the first use.

The glazes used for zellige are made from natural mineral materials. For direct food contact (worktops, splashbacks), we recommend a food-contact-approved surface treatment.

PRODUCT DETAILS & MORE

Cement tiles are an artisanal flooring and wall covering made from cement, sand, marble powder and mineral pigments. Each tile is hydraulically pressed (not fired), giving it high mechanical strength and allowing finely detailed designs.

Terrazzo (or Venetian terrazzo) is a composite material made of marble, quartz, granite or glass fragments bound by a cement or resin matrix. After pouring and curing, the surface is polished to reveal the aggregates. Our ESTEZZA range is a fully customisable high-performance terrazzo.

Granito Classic is a fine-grained terrazzo made from small marble aggregates in a cement matrix. It offers a smooth, homogeneous surface ideal for contemporary designs.

Zellige is a handcrafted Moroccan glazed tile, hand-shaped from natural clay, kiln-fired and then coated with a glaze. Its surface irregularities, colour variations and reflections are its hallmark.

TERRA tiles are natural terracotta pieces, hand-moulded from carefully selected clays. Available in numerous shapes and colours, they feature tonal variations and a unique texture.

Detailed technical sheets are available for each product range covering substrate preparation, recommended adhesive, surface treatment, grouting and daily maintenance. See the installation section of each product site or contact us.

Zellige is available in various formats (from 2x2 cm to 10x30 cm and more). Due to its artisanal manufacture, a grout joint of 2-3 mm is recommended to accommodate natural dimensional variations.

Cement tiles and terrazzo are porous and should be treated with a water-repellent sealer before use. In case of a stain, act quickly with a pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid acidic products (vinegar, lemon) and abrasive cleaners.

Hairline cracks are a natural characteristic of cement-based products and do not compromise tile strength. Structural cracks are usually related to the substrate (slab movement, missing expansion joint). Contact us for a diagnosis.

All our products are tested to applicable European standards (flexural strength, water absorption, slip resistance, stain resistance). Test reports and technical data sheets are available on request. Zellige and terrazzo are rated R9 to R13 depending on the finish.
